We tried a couple of different puffy paint recipes that used flour but it was really hard to use with squeeze bottles. This was the easiet for my LOs to squeeze from the bottle. I liked to use the squeeze bottles as it develops their fine motor skills and also the texture looks so cool..
This is a simple 3 ingredient recipe. Its super-easy to make & was such a fun experiment for us to try. The best part is watching your paint puff up as it dries.. It looks Amazing!👌

What you need
- 1/4 cup White Glue
- 1/4 cup Shaving Cream
- Food Color/Water Color
- Squeeze bottle (optional)
- Mix equal parts of white glue & shaving cream together. You just have to eyeball your shaving cream as its not easy to measure. It doesnt matter if you go wrong on the measurements, you will still end up with a really nice texture.
- Add food color – abt 10 drops ( add more for bright colors) & mix well until you have the desired consistency. You could also add water colors.
- Pour the contents into squeeze bottle and have fun painting. 😀
If you dont have squeeze bottles you can use ziploc bags. Just pour all the contents into the bag directly, seal it and mix well. Make very small cut at the edge of the ziploc and tighten the contents using a rubberband. This way theres no cleaning the bottles. You could also transfer them to cups & use with paint brushes.
My LOs loved using the squeeze bottles so much. After squeezing all the paint out, they used their brushes to mix and play with the paint. It got soo messy we werent able to save their art for drying.😂 This pic was taken when they had just started.
It looked so much fun & irresistible that i joined them. The end result was awesome. The art was all puffed up and we really enjoyed the texture. 😀
Tip: Throw on a dollar store sheet onto the table before you start your project. It does gets messy when the LOs are having fun sqeezing around and if you dont clean it right away it dries up and puffs on your table too.. (Mommy fail!😂) Cleaning the table isn’t that hard.. But its always better to avoid the mess.
