What you need
- Jumbo Colored Craftsticks (you could use regular craftsticks too)
- Construction Paper
- Cut the contruction paper into different shapes. Draw smiley/funny faces using markers and cut to make slits on the head – makes it look like hair.
- Glue the faces onto the craftstick to make craftstick puppets. Let dry.
- Place the craftstick puppets and scissors on a tray & Invite your kids to give a haircut to the puppets.
Miss A(3 yrs) has been using the plastic safety scissors for a while now. She loves using the scissors and generally cuts the construction paper with it. She doesnt cut in straight lines yet – we will get there soon. Miss D(23 months) just tries to hold the scissors but hasnt tried cutting anything so far. They both enjoyed this activity equally. Infact they asked me for more craftstick puppets once they were done. Miss As favourite were the minions (shes into them lately). Miss D took me by surprise. I never expected her to cut anything really. She did a pretty neat job for a first timer. 😀 This activity was a big hit with my LOs. We will be making more of these soon. Definetly buys some quiet time for Mommy.👍
