Pumpkin Alphabet Match

Pumpkin Alphabet Match is a fun way for kids to learn their alphabets. This unique alphabet activity is perfect for fall and is great for upper case & lower case letter recognition. Also you can extend the activity to learn phonics. 👍

What you need

  • Pumpkin
  • Permanent Marker
  • Round stickers/ Labels

How to

  • Write the uppercase alphabets on the pumpkin using the permanent marker.
  • Write the lowercase alphabets or uppercase alphabets on the stickers/labels.
  • Let your LOs match the letter on the label and place it over the matching letter on the pumpkin.

Miss A(3yrs) is learning her alphabets and this activity was a great way for her to practice letter recognition. We did uppercase alphabets on both pumpkin & stickers and she matched the alphabets with no help. Everytime she matched the letter she would say what it is and what color the sticker is. Once done, we counted the stickers to find which color we have more. We also played a game, “Find Something” – She would try to find something the begins with the alphabet from her toys, bonus points if shes able to color match with the sticker. For eg. She picked green capsicum for the letter C because it was on the green label, Red Apple for the letter A. 😀 The stickers can be easily removed, so it can be played over and over again. Soon we will be doing lowercase alphabets on the stickers to match the uppercase alphabets.
