What you need

  • Pompoms
  • Baking cups or muffin pan
  • Teeezer or tongs
  • Labels
  • Marker

How to

  • Write numbers on round labels and stick them onto the baking cups.
  • Let your LOs read the number on the baking cups, use tweezers to pick the corresponding number of pompoms and transfer it to the baking cups.

Miss A(3 yrs) found it a bit challenging to use the small tweezers. Picking the pompoms with tweezers while concentrating on counting was a good exercise. With some practice she was able to do it. πŸ˜€

After she was done i let her verify if she had made any mistakes (which is common while kids are learning) – she was able to spot a few and rectify. A does pretty well with counting- usually the first time she does it right, but when she repeats she rushes through. Number recognition is still a work in progress. This activity was great to work on the number order too. πŸ‘

Miss D(2 yrs) tried to pick up the pompoms using tweezers and transferred it to the baking cups. She was able to pick a few. Then she started baking pompom cupcakes in her toy microwave. Later A joined her and they both made yummy cupcakes for mommy.. with frosting!! Yay!πŸ˜€

Hi!! Im Lavanya, stay at home mom of 3 & 2 yr old girls.. My LOs are very active and they need various activities to keep them busy and interested. A monotonous play bores them easily.. Hence, I've started to explore & create activities to keep them occupied - fun & some learning.. This blog is my maiden attempt where you can find simple crafts and learning activities for kids. If you like my page share it with your friends. Also tell me what you think in the comments. πŸ˜€ Thanks for stopping by!!
